Best Geysers Under ₹7,000 in India (September 2026)
🏆 All Best Picks guides › this guide
A geyser is one of those purchases you only think about on the first genuinely cold morning, and by then you want it installed the same week. The good news is that the best geysers under 7000 now cover both ends of the range properly: compact instant heaters for a kitchen sink or a single quick shower, and full 15 litre storage tanks that used to sit well above this budget. This guide splits the two clearly, because buying the wrong type is the most common mistake at this price.
Every pick below was checked live for stock and price before publishing. Where a model is cheaper at one store, we say so.
1. AO Smith VAS Plus 15 Litre

This is the pick to beat if you want a proper family-sized tank without crossing the budget. AO Smith's Blue Diamond glass-lined tank is the reason to choose it over cheaper 15 litre units, because it is the part that decides how long the geyser survives hard water. The warranty backs that up too, at seven years on the tank. It also carries the best customer rating of any storage model we checked in this band.
| Type | Storage, vertical wall mount |
|---|---|
| Capacity | 15 litres |
| Heating element | 2 kW |
| Energy rating | BEE 5 star |
| Tank | Blue Diamond glass lined, corrosion resistant |
| Warranty | 7 years tank, 3 years element, 2 years overall |
| Price | Around ₹6,750 on Amazon, around ₹6,600 on Flipkart |
- Best-rated storage geyser we found under this budget
- Seven year tank warranty is unusually long here
- Currently a little cheaper on Flipkart
- 2 kW element means it heats a touch slower than 3 kW instant units

2. Crompton Arno Neo 15 Litre

The Arno Neo is the volume seller of this category and the review count shows it, with well over forty thousand ratings on Flipkart alone. That matters more than it sounds, because a geyser that has been through several monsoons in thousands of Indian homes has had its weak points found already. It undercuts the AO Smith slightly and comes with a three level safety system.
| Type | Storage, vertical wall mount |
|---|---|
| Capacity | 15 litres |
| Safety | 5 level safety, anti-scale coated tank for hard water up to 2000 ppm TDS |
| Energy rating | BEE 5 star on Amazon, 4 star on Flipkart |
| Max pressure | 8 bar |
| Tank warranty | 5 years |
| Recognition | National Energy Conservation Award winner, 2023 |
| Price | Around ₹6,300 on Amazon, around ₹6,250 on Flipkart |
- Enormous review base, so the long-term record is well known
- Cheaper than the AO Smith while offering the same 15 litre capacity
- Rated higher by Flipkart buyers than Amazon buyers
- The two listings disagree on the BEE star rating, so check the label on the box

3. AO Smith HSE-SHS-015 15 Litre

This one is worth knowing about specifically because of where it is cheap. On Flipkart it sits inside our budget, while the same capacity on Amazon is priced above it, so this is a single-store recommendation rather than an oversight. The draw is the 8 bar pressure rating, which is what you want if you live high up in an apartment block where water pressure is unpredictable.
| Type | Storage, vertical wall mount |
|---|---|
| Capacity | 15 litres |
| Heating element | 2 kW |
| Pressure rating | 8 bar, designed for high rise buildings |
| Tank | Blue Diamond glass lined |
| Energy rating | BEE 5 star |
| Tank warranty | 5 years, plus 2 years on the heating element |
| Price | Around ₹6,550 on Flipkart. Above this budget on Amazon at the time of writing |
- The 8 bar rating suits high floors and hard water better than most rivals here
- Comfortably in budget at one store
- Only worth buying at the Flipkart price, since Amazon lists it above this band
4. Orient Electric Enamour Classic Pro 15 Litre

The cheapest 15 litre storage unit that we were willing to include, and the value pick of the storage group. Orient's Whirlflow design is meant to speed up heating by improving circulation inside the tank, and the HPE coating is the corrosion defence. If your budget is firm and you still want a full tank rather than an instant heater, start here.
| Type | Storage, vertical wall mount |
|---|---|
| Capacity | 15 litres |
| Heating | Whirlflow technology for faster heat-up |
| Tank | HPE coated |
| Energy rating | BEE 5 star, high rise compatible |
| Warranty | 5 years on tank |
| Price | Around ₹6,100 on Amazon |
- Lowest price of any 15 litre storage geyser in this guide
- High rise compatible, which not every budget model is
- Shorter tank warranty than the AO Smith models
5. Crompton Arno Neo 5 Litre Instant

Moving to the instant half of the guide, this is the one we would fit in a kitchen or a second bathroom. A 3 kW element in a 5 litre body means hot water in well under a minute, and the food grade stainless steel tank is a step up from the plastic-lined budget units. It costs the same at both stores, so buy wherever you already have a delivery slot.
| Type | Instant, vertical |
|---|---|
| Capacity | 5 litres |
| Heating element | 3 kW |
| Tank | Food grade stainless steel |
| Pressure rating | 6 bar |
| Warranty | 5 years on tank |
| Price | Around ₹3,900 at both Amazon and Flipkart |
- Fast 3 kW heating, ideal for kitchen use
- Identical price at both stores, so no hunting required
- Far more Flipkart ratings than Amazon ones, worth reading before you buy
- 5 litres is not enough for a long shower, this is a top-up heater

6. V-Guard Zio 5 Litre Instant

The Zio is V-Guard's answer to the Crompton above and it matches it closely on paper, with the same 3000 W heating and a five year inner tank warranty. It holds a solid rating across several thousand buyers. Pick it over the Arno Neo if you prefer V-Guard's service network, which is strong in south India in particular.
| Type | Instant, suitable for kitchen and bathroom |
|---|---|
| Capacity | 5 litres |
| Heating element | 3000 W |
| Safety | Advanced multi-layered safety |
| Warranty | 5 years on inner tank |
| Price | Around ₹4,000 on Amazon |
- Strong rating across a large number of buyers
- Same fast 3000 W heating as the pricier instant units
- Costs slightly more than the Crompton for broadly similar hardware
7. Havells Instanio 3 Litre Instant

The budget entry point, and the one to buy if the geyser is only ever going to rinse dishes or fill a bucket. It is the cheapest pick here and has the second largest review base in the guide. Note the price gap between stores on this one, which is the widest of any model we checked, so it is worth buying from the cheaper side.
| Type | Instant, high rise compatible |
|---|---|
| Capacity | 3 litres |
| Tank | 304 grade stainless steel |
| Indicator | Temperature sensing LED |
| Max pressure | 6.5 bar |
| Body | Rust and shock proof, ISI marked |
| Warranty | 5 years on inner tank |
| Price | Around ₹3,700 on Amazon. Noticeably dearer on Flipkart |
- Cheapest way into a branded geyser in this guide
- Very large review base for a budget model
- 3 litres is strictly a sink or bucket heater, not for showers
- The Flipkart listing is well above the Amazon price, so buy from Amazon

All seven compared
BEE star rating and max pressure both come from the listing's own spec sheet, not our estimate. A higher bar rating matters if you live above the third or fourth floor; a higher star rating means a lower running cost on a storage tank.

How to choose
Start with the type, not the brand. An instant geyser holds three to six litres and reheats constantly, which suits a kitchen tap, a washbasin or a bucket bath. A storage geyser holds ten to fifteen litres and keeps it hot, which is what you need for an actual shower, especially for more than one person back to back. Buying a 3 litre instant unit and expecting a family shower out of it is the single most common regret in this category.
After that, look at the tank rather than the sticker features. Glass lined and enamel coated tanks resist hard water far better than plain steel, and in most Indian cities hard water is what eventually kills a geyser. A longer tank warranty is a reasonable proxy for how much the manufacturer trusts that lining. If you live above the fourth floor, check the pressure rating as well, since a unit rated for 6 bar or 8 bar will cope with pressure swings that a basic model will not.
Finally, check both stores before buying. Across the models in this guide the gap ran from nothing at all to well over a thousand rupees on the same product, and it did not consistently favour either retailer. If your budget stretches further, larger 25 litre tanks and digital display models start just above this range.
FAQs
Is a 15 litre geyser enough for a family?
For two to three people showering one after another, yes, a 15 litre storage geyser is the usual recommendation. Four or more people, or a bathtub, is where you should look at a 25 litre unit instead.
Instant or storage, which is cheaper to run?
Instant heaters use a higher wattage element but only while you are drawing water, so for short use like washing up they generally cost less to run. Storage geysers reheat to keep the tank warm, which is more efficient for a full shower but wasteful if you only need a mug of hot water.
Does the BEE star rating actually matter?
On storage geysers it does, because the rating largely reflects how well the tank holds heat between uses, and that is where the electricity goes. On instant heaters it matters much less, since there is little standing loss to measure.
Do I need a professional to install it?
Yes, and most of these models are sold with an installation service, some free and some paid. A geyser combines mains electricity with water, and a poor earth connection is genuinely dangerous, so this is not the place to save a few hundred rupees.
